At Coastal Nations Fisheries, we recognize that our dedicated team is what makes our company successful.
Treating our staff with dignity, respect and providing fair compensation can be traced right back to our core principles, which are at the heart of everything we do as an organization.
Every year, Living Wage BC calculates the Living Wage in different regions of BC based on the weighted average costs, government benefits and taxes of three household types (family of four with two adults and two children; single parent with one child and single adult). The Living Wage is the hourly amount a person needs to earn to cover basic expenses. Employers can calculate the existing wages of their staff including weighted benefits here.
Employers who compensate their lowest earning staff member either as much or exceeding the Living Wage of their region can get certified as a Living Wage employer.
We proudly announce that Coastal Nations Fisheries is now a certified Living Wage Employer.
Not only does this acknowledgement confirm that our current staff is appreciated and appropriately compensated, but also ensures that we are a sought-after employer who attracts excellent future personnel.
