Gitga'at

The Gitga’at people have occupied the lands and waters around Txalgiuw (Hartley Bay), on BC’s North Coast, for millennia. The Gitga’at Nation runs several unique Indigenous-led programs, including the Gitga’at Development Corporation, Gitga’at Oceans and Lands Department (GOLD) and the Gitga’at Guardians, local eco-tourism operations and collaborative research with diverse academic communities to ensure land and marine resources are protected for future generations.
